2019 COFLT 50th Anniversary Fall Conference (Oct. 11-12) Call for Proposals

Registration

  • One hour session include 15 minutes of flex time for questions and transition.
  • Longer sessions are best suited to workshops, panel discussions, or presentation that include a lot of audience participation or demonstration. Two hour sessions include 30 minutes of flex time for break and q&a. Please click "Submit" to begin the proposal submission process.

Presentation Requirements

COFLT Fall Conference is at PCC Rock Creek on October 11-12

Theme: "Where Oregon Educators Have Been Meeting for 50 Years" COFLT 50 Year Anniversary! 

Focus Areas for submitting proposals are

  • Pedagogy & Practice: Practical language pedagogy, classroom practices, tips, tricks & tools, cultural practices. (Comprehensible Input [CI], heritage classes, Organic World Language [OWL], classroom management, etc.)
  • Advocacy & Service: Promotion of language & culture education, service learning, community engagement. (Social justice, critical pedagogy, advocacy for students of poverty, etc.)
  • Scholarship & Research: In language acquisition, linguistics, pedagogy, intercultural topics, cultural practice or related subjects. (mini-grant recipients, masters and doctoral candidates, etc.)

Session Length:   You may choose a 1 hour presentation or 2 hour participatory session or panel discussion.  

Deadline and Selection Process

Submission Deadline has been extended to: Monday, September 9, 2019.  Proposals will be reviewed and accepted as space in the schedule allows and with priority given to earlier submissions.

Notification of selection: Presentations will be reviewed on a rolling basis.  Presenters will be notified no later than September 18, 2019.

Your presentation will either be accepted as is, accepted with modifications, or not accepted

Membership: You do not have to be a member of COFLT or WAFLT to submit a proposal; however, if your submission is selected for presentation, you must become a member in good standing.

Conference Registration: All presenters must also register to attend the conference.  Proposal submission is not a substitute for conference registration.
