The COFLT Board dedicates itself to providing equal access to all language learners and educators regardless of race, religion, ability, gender, socioeconomic situation, or national origin. Educational equity for all requires that COFLT is intentional about inclusivity and about confronting inequitable practices that persist in Oregon pedagogical systems. The COFLT board places racial equity and social justice at the forefront of board policies, state-wide professional development events, and research-based world language teaching practices. The COFLT board’s commitment to equity is a call to action to all language educators and policy makers who are preparing 21st century students for a multicultural and inclusive society.
What is COFLT?The Confederation in Oregon for Language Teaching is Oregon’s statewide association of second language professionals for all languages at all levels, immersion and non-immersion. COFLT works with educators statewide to improve language learning and teaching.COFLT membership includes membership in the Pacific Northwest Council for Languages (PNCFL), which is our conduit to JNCL/NCLIS and ACTFL. |
